The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center for Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We are the only provider that offers counseling, case management, psychosocial, and medication services all at the same site. We care greatly about our clients and are consistently moving towards a holistic model of care. Salary and Benefits for ACT Peer Support Specialist:

• Base hourly rate of $21.13 to $23.54 based on relevant experience.
• Monday – Friday schedule between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm, on call rotation

Primary Duties for ACT Peer Support Specialist:

• Assist consumers with regaining the ability to make independent choices and to take a proactive role in treatment
• Assist consumers with identifying and effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that result in functional impairments.
• Assist consumers in articulating personal goals for recovery
• Train and coach individuals in positive skill-building techniques for improved life management (e.g., problem solving, identifying and overcoming fears and negative self-talk).

Minimum Qualifications for ACT Peer Support Specialist:

EDUCATION:

Required: * Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: * Some post-high school education in the field of Human Services

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Must self-identify as a former primary consumer of behavioral healthcare services and lived experience.
• Must have had no psychiatric hospital admissions for a minimum of one year.
