About Us:
We are an accounting and business advisory firm serving clients throughout Washington, DC, Baltimore, and the Mid-Atlantic region. We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to join our team.
Essential Functions:
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial statements, including account analysis, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
Assist with client accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Maintain general accounting systems to record assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.
Research, analyze, and document general accounting matters.
Manage general ledger operations, including processing, monitoring, and tracking transactions, and preparing journal entries.
Process payroll and related tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Prepare federal corporate (C and S), partnership, and individual income tax returns.
Develop and maintain book and tax depreciation schedules, ensuring proper asset classification.
Perform additional accounting and tax duties as assigned.
Collaborate with team members to achieve optimal customer satisfaction.
Interact with personnel and management across departments and externally to resolve accounting issues.
Support internal controls and compliance with US GAAP.
Provide hands-on support for various projects.
Other Functions:
Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
Display industry expertise in non-profit, automotive, and real estate sectors.
Assist in recruiting and training CAAS personnel.
Develop an entrepreneurial approach to client service and build rapport with client personnel.
Cultivate business contacts, meet with prospective clients, and generate referrals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of recent public accounting, tax, or audit experience, or equivalent experience with audits, financial reports, and month-end closings.
Proficiency in financial and internal controls to support GAAP compliance.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
Advanced degree (e.g., law or master's in taxation or finance) preferred.
CPA certification strongly desired.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, CCH Suite) or ability to quickly learn new software.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and time management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple client engagements and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer service-oriented with a collaborative team spirit.
Must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
