Carter Field Supervisor & Club Sports Assistant About the Opportunity JOB SUMMARY: The primary role of this position is the Carter Field Supervisor and secondary to this will be the Club Sport Assistant responsibilities that occur when not working on Carter Field.
Carter Playground is a multi-purpose, state of the art publicly owned athletic complex including two athletic turf fields, a seasonal air structure, five tennis courts and a passive park.
Total weekly hours: 32-40
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Support NU Club Sport programming (games, events, practices) a. This includes programming at night and on weekends.
- Manage and organize Club schedules including practices, special events, and competitions
- Event management a. Setup/breakdown, onsite supervisor, assist with special events
- Supervise and monitor a team of up to 10 NU student workers a. Including onboarding and training student staff as needed
- Adhere to, educate and enforce all policies and procedures in the Carter Field Rules
- Ensure safe and proper use of the facility and equipment
- Pass-on any and all information that may affect daily operations to the other Carter Staff (NU Facilities, Club Sports, student staff, etc.)
- Manage relationship between NU Club Sports and the City of Boston, including citizens utilizing the field during public park hours
- Coordinate daily responsibilities with Carter Field security personnel
- Assist in the transition of programming and ensure proper conclusions of said programming
- Serve as Primary Responder in all situations that may occur at Carter Field during reservations
- Medical Kits - Ensure med kits are stocked and with you for all shifts
- Assist Clubs with retrieving equipment from storage, filling water, and ice
- Assist with Club specific purchases, inventory, and equipment management
- Coordinate and manage meetings with Clubs in need of assistance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Be customer service oriented
- Be willing/able to work nights and weekends
- Have exceptional communication skills
- Have the ability to thrive in a student service environment
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (or willing to be before starting first shift)
