Junior Business Intelligence Analyst, Brock Canada About the Company: The Brock Group is a leading provider of industrial specialty services to clients around the world, with headquarters in Houston, TX, and operating units in Canada, the United States, and Latin America. With the Canadian head office in Edmonton, the company supports routine maintenance, turnarounds, and industrial capital projects by providing services including scaffolding and work access, insulation, fireproofing, and asbestos abatement for general maintenance, construction, turnarounds, and shutdowns to Western Canadian producers.
Position Summary: Brock Canada is looking for a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst. As the successful Candidate, you will provide development, support, and integration of fundamental project reports & systems. You will contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle process with enhancements supporting application configuration, design, integration, testing, and implementation. You will report directly to the Project Controls Supervisor, Reporting.
Primary Duties: - Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support project controls activities
- Utilizing SQL queries for data integration, transformation, and analysis
- Create automated data refresh schedules and ensure timely delivery of updated reports and dashboards to stakeholders
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and prepare customized reports as requested by Project Managers and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project data and ensure its accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Provide expertise and guidance on Power BI best practices, data visualization techniques, and data governance standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within Project Controls using Power BI
Advantageous Qualifications: - Proficient in Power BI, including creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret project data
- Experience in data modeling and transformation techniques within Power BI
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and ability to effectively communicate insights
- Familiarity with Project Controls principles and practices
- Familiar with Finance principles and practices is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with Power BI advancements and industry trends
- Knowledge in SAP Business One is an asset
- Knowledge in SQL is an asset
- Knoweldge with Open API is an asset
- Creating and maintaining document control structures in SharePoint
- Excel VBA & process automation experience
- PowerShell is an asset
