Job Description

We are excited to offer a diverse and engaging opportunity for a Receptionist/Billing Specialist within our healthcare team. In this part-time role, you will play a vital part in delivering primary care to our valued patient population while collaborating with clinical and administrative staff at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact, warmly answering all incoming calls related to scheduling, billing inquiries, and medication refills.
Promptly return voicemails each day to assist patients with their scheduling, billing, and medication needs.
Navigate patient charts confidently to check medication refill dates, appointment details, and demographic information.
Collaborate effectively with both clinical and administrative teams on billing-related matters.
Accurately complete all billing for patient visits on a daily basis.
Generate regular reports within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system related to billing operations.
Assist in exporting documentation to other provider offices that are part of the patient's care team (e.g., dermatology, gastrointestinal specialists).
Utilize Excel and Google Docs for daily workflow quantification and reporting.
Perform printing, copying, scanning, and mailing tasks as needed, following the guidance of the clinical and administrative teams.
Qualifications:

Previous medical billing experience is essential.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and comfort in interacting with patients both in-person and over the phone.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete patient follow-up calls in a timely manner related to scheduling, medication refills, and paperwork as directed by clinical staff.
A willingness to embrace a telehealth platform for remote work, with a transition to in-person responsibilities as determined by practice leadership in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
