The Occupational Therapy Assistant will report directly to the Director of Rehabilitation Services. This role involves collaborating closely with occupational therapists, physicians, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive therapy services and ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
The Occupational Therapy Department is an integral part of our rehabilitation services, providing tailored therapy programs designed to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. The department is equipped with modern facilities and tools to support effective therapy interventions. In this role, you will assist occupational therapists in implementing therapy plans and programs for patients, focusing on improving their daily living skills and functional abilities. You will provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities, and monitor patient progress, documenting changes and outcomes accurately. Collaboration with the occupational therapy team and other healthcare professionals will be essential in developing and adjusting therapy plans based on patient needs. You will also educate patients and their families about therapy techniques and home exercises to support ongoing recovery.
Candidates for the Occupational Therapy Assistant will hold a valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required. Prior experience in a clinical setting, preferably in rehabilitation or acute care, is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care, with a focus on delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions and maintaining accurate documentation.
