Little Blossom Montessori School at Aurora, IL welcomes applications for an ADMINISTRATOR / DIRECTOR to work with the Head of school for the day to day administration of the school. Little Blossom Montessori School follows the Montessori educational methods.
We offer year-round programs to support the needs of a variety of families. We have children from the age group from 6 weeks to 6 years in a transitional classroom approach. As the Director of the school, you will be responsible with the administrative duties managing the staff, scheduling the staff time, dealing with the day-to-day operations of the school and working with parents if required, with their concerns regarding their childs early Montessori education. You will be responsible for overseeing the operations of school programs, school enrollment, program staff. The Director of School will work closely with the Head of School and board to directors for the strategy of our school. If required the director will work in the classroom.
Qualifications for director of School:
Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. 2 years or more experience. Certification in the 3-6 year Montessori classroom or 24-36 months (preferred but not required) with several years of experience working with toddlers, preschoolers.
Two years of administrative experience as a Preschool director.
Ability to work closely with staff, children, and parents to design and implement thoughtful and effective Montessori curriculum
Additional training/ experience working with toddlers
Develop and work with Summer School activities and work year round.
Successful candidates will be qualified Montessori experts with significant experience as classroom teachers, teacher educators, or Montessori administrators, with an interest in advancing current research in Montessori and who should be qualified and able to take up challenging positions as Director of the school and further as we grow. Deep knowledge of Montessori early childhood theory and practice, a commitment to engaging parents and families and a willingness to question pedagogical presumptions are essential. Teachers who have experience in collaborating with parents or as teacher trainers may be especially successful in this role.
