Job Description

Title:  Process Engineer (Ceramic) / Materials Manager

Reports to:     Engineering Manager

Education and Experience Requirements: These requirements are at the discretion of the Engineering Manager.

Duties:

• Responsible for accuracy and revision maintenance of controlled formula batch cards and mixing instruction cards.
• Support sales and estimating in material/process recommendations as directed by the Engineering Manager.
• Recommend improvements to existing materials.
• Lead R&D efforts regarding new materials and/or material processes.
• Manage testing and implementation of recommended material improvements as approved and prioritized by engineering.
• Recommend/Implement improvements in material processing and control as prioritized by engineering.
• Responsible for performing random but routine audits of the mixing personnel with respect to formulations, procedures, reporting, and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
• Responsible for reviewing and reporting equipment issues resultant from the periodic inspections as well as breakdowns, etc, with the maintenance supervisor and plant manager.
• Attends regularly scheduled production staff meetings and reports any concerns or potential issues and documents/investigates those concerns and discusses with the plant manager and/or QA manager.
• Support production and quality with troubleshooting production processes as requested.
• Responsible for maintaining correct inventory levels of raw materials and scheduling deliveries to meet production requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining and auditing all material related procedures.

May be assigned other miscellaneous duties as required by supervisor and/or executive management.
