Position: Purchasing Agent (Hollow Metal)

MUST HAVE: DOORS AND HARDWARE EXPERIENCE - Specifically Hollow Metal Door Purchasing Experience

Position Overview: As a Purchasing Agent for Hollow Metal Door products, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing all necessary supplies and materials related to Division 8, including Hollow Metal Doors, Frames, and Hardware. You will work closely with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of all products to meet the company's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential suppliers for Division 8 products, specifically Hollow Metal Doors, Frames, and Hardware.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive and cost-effective pricing for all products.
  • Maintain relationships with current suppliers and continuously evaluate their performance and pricing.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure adequate stock of all necessary Hollow Metal products.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as Sales and Operations, to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Track and manage purchase orders, invoices, and payments to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses related to Hollow Metal products.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards, as well as legal and ethical guidelines, in all purchasing activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the construction or building materials industry.
  • Working knowledge of Division 8 products, specifically Hollow Metal Doors, Frames, and Hardware, is highly desired.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with purchasing software or systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with cost-saving initiatives and strategies
