Job Title: SAP Technical Manager 

Department:  Information Technology

Role Summary: 

As SAP Technical Manager in the Enterprise Applications team, your primary role is to lead the technical team and the delivery and support of solutions used for end-to-end business processes. You will partner with IT Business Systems Analysts and with key business users to design, configure and implement exceptional solutions in SAP s/4 and related systems. You will deliver work product that is typically based on SAP ABAP, UI5/Fiori, SAP BUILD, SAP BAS, Javascript or other frameworks. 

This position will provide deep technical knowledge, end to end technical oversight from design through owning the implementation of the solution including, but not limited to, S/4 technical landscape, planning, designing, testing, deploying, troubleshooting, upgrading, and optimizing. Additionally, S/4 Point of Sale, integrations with internal and external systems/services, heavily focused on APIs integrations B2B, A2A, and B2C. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the technical authority for S/4 ABAP, UI5/Fiori, BTP Development Tools, and integration efforts, providing guidance and direction to a dedicated team of development professionals. 

  • You will lead a team of 3-5 people including hiring, performance management, compensation decisions and mentoring 

  • Stay abreast of SAP technical trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement within the organization 

  • Take ownership of multi-functional problems and collaborate with others across multiple teams and sites to provide creative solutions 

  • Lead high-level design sessions that meet business requirements, ensuring full integration of processes within our systems, including Point of Sale system. 

  • Ensure the distribution and delegation of development tasks achieves optimal loading across the team 

  • Oversee critical steps within the SAP Software Development Life Cycle components that impact enterprise-wide development / architecture standards 

  • Provide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of project work including detailed technical specifications and application code 

  • Manage internal resources as well as augmented or externally sourced team members 

  • Communicate project status to various levels of management 

  • Closely collaborate with our Solution Architects, System Integration partners, business-facing teams, and other technical teams to implement robust and secure technical solutions based on best practices 

  • Manage integration projects and subprojects of global SAP s/4HANA implementations. 

  • Integrate cloud platforms and applications (SAP, SuccessFactors, Concur, etc.) Point of Sales systems, and eCommerce platforms, preferably Magento. 

 

Educational/Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required in Computer Science or Related Field. Master’s degree. 

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of SAP technical roles with a strong understanding of SAP BTP, ABAP, UI5/Fiori including web-based applications. 

  • Solid understanding of s/4 architecture, Integration APIs, configurations, Smart Data Integration, CDS Views, OData provisioning and web services 

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and inspire a technical team. 

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work under pressure. 

  • Good project management, delegation, prioritization skills and experience 

  • Ability to work and communicate with various levels of management, users, team members and customers 

  • A passion for all things tech and a drive to experiment with new technologies to see where they can benefit the business 

  • Excellent communication skills, social, meeting facilitation skills with ability to convey technical terms to a non-technical audience 

  • Expertise in integration for large application platforms like SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Concur, Zendesk 

  • Execution and review of scheduled Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) and IT General control 

  • Understands BTP environment and solid understanding of integrations/CPI. 

  • Experience with OMS+ Point of Sale is a plus 

  • This position may require, occasionally, to work at nights / weekends. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
