Responsibilities:

• Interpretation : Provide accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction school activities and events.
• Student Support : Assist students in understanding and accessing the curriculum.
• Collaboration : Work with teachers and special education staff to support educational goals.
• Advocacy : Advocate for the needs of deaf or hardofhearing students.
• Documentation : Maintain detailed records of services and progress.
• Professional Development : Stay updated on best practices in sign language interpretation.
  

Requirements

• Education : Associates or Bachelors degree in ASL Interpretation or a related field.
• Certification : Valid certification from a recognized body (e.g. RID EIPA).
• Experience : Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
• Skills : Proficiency in ASL strong communication and interpersonal skills teamwork abilities.
• Attributes : Understanding of deaf culture and the needs of deaf or hardofhearing students.
