Senior Logistics Analyst

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Senior Logistics Analyst for our Pilgrim’s Transportation team that is based at our Corporate office in Greeley, Colorado.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain SQL/access databases containing pre-processed/unprocessed data from various sources to meet the needs of the business
  • Generate reports/analytics/insights using internal and external tabular data on freight costs and service
  • Automation of current spreadsheet-based reporting processes and ability to develop new tools/reports on the fly that provide solutions and visibility to transportation challenges
  • Respond timely to ad-hoc report requests from shipping, sales, and accounting
  • Assist management in freight planning, shipment consolidation, rate negotiations, cost and service optimization, and grading trucking carriers
  • Assist in preparing yearly freight budgets and analyzing performance against the projected costs
  • Dissect and analyze freight data to identify areas of opportunity and corrective actions
  • Consistent focus on process improvement and increasing efficiency
  • Assist the company in analyzing CHEP Pallet variance and reconciliation with missed pallet reporting
  • Collaborate with management to provide reporting and analysis on other areas as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation/Supply Chain, Business Administration, AG Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel—Power Query/M Language, Pivot Tables, and Excel Formulas/Functions are required
  • Skills with SQL, Excel VBA, and Microsoft Access
  • Skills in data visualization tools such as Qlik Sense and Power BI are desirable
  • Experience with SAP/S4Hana TMS, or similar transportation software, and/or industry experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with programming tools such as Python and R studio is preferred
  • Ability to lead a project from scratch, assist team members in knowledge sharing, and present findings/output in a non-technical manner
  • Acute attention to details
  • Strong ability to use logic and math and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible, working in both team and independent settings, and mindset of taking ownership
  • Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to generate a simple solution to a complex problem
  • Excellent communication skills/ability to explain intricate problems in a simple way and offer creative solutions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $80,000-$90,000; and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
