Position Overview: Our client, an IT Service and Consulting Company that focus on cloud platforms and operations for federal and large enterprise clients, is seeking a
Senior Solutions Architect to support business growth opportunities that span the US Federal market.
The Sr. Solutions Architect will join their Strategic Growth team, a diverse team of Cloud Engineering and Software Development professionals who work together to support business growth and solutions delivery. Their Strategic Growth team actively supports business development activities and complex capture of large contracts in partnership with capture leaders and executives.
The ideal candidate will be able to translate customer requirements into a compelling solution vision, and then work with a team to communicate that vision in writing. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable sketching technical concepts at the whiteboard in a room of both business and technical participants, and you must be confident in translating these concepts in solution strategy presentations to an executive leadership team and customers for their buy-in and support. You will be challenged to expand your understanding of emerging trends and technology in multiple technology domains.
You will have the support and develop camaraderie with a collaborative team of varying experience levels and backgrounds. Your manager will also provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to help you succeed in your near-term assignments and long-term career path.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development of enterprise solutions throughout the opportunity lifecycle, from deal qualification through proposal submission and into knowledge transition following award
- Collaborate with other technologists and process SMEs to develop solution concepts, elicit feedback from both customers and other experts within the company, and iterate towards well-defined technical solutions that help their company stand out from the pack.
- Partner with an experienced Capture Manager to collaborate on win, teaming, and solution strategy, with assistance from our Business Unit program teams and executive leaders who have developed close customer relationships
Required Skills: - B.S. in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Management, or related
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Solutions Architect role for US Federal bids and proposals
- Background in designing and/or implementing enterprise solutions for Federal agencies in the areas of Cloud
- Demonstrated solution leadership experience in support of capturing strategic business opportunities with total contract values above $40M
- Ability to build partnerships, bridge gaps, and reach a common understanding between business-oriented stakeholders, technical leadership, and technical subject matter experts when collaborating on highly technical solutions to meet specific mission needs
- Continual assessment of commercial and open-source technology trends, products, and services for their applicability and effectiveness in meeting customer needs
- Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills, including storyboarding, whiteboarding, and proposal development
- Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, if necessary
- 5 or more years supporting solutions architecture for US Federal bids and proposals; roles may include Lead/Supporting Architect, subject matter expert, technical book boss, author, and reviewer for proposals
- Ability to write winning technical proposals and lead other writers in telling a targeted message.
- Experience building estimation inputs into cost and pricing models for complex enterprise solution bids, proposals, or ROMs
- Broad understanding and awareness of Agile, UX, Cloud, software architecture, cybersecurity, and information assurance practices and techniques, especially as they relate to enterprise risk management and zero trust solutions
- Multi-cloud management experience
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
Location: This is a flexible work environment that is a hybrid of remote/virtual and in-person sessions as needed but preferably in the Washington, DC - Baltimore corridor.
