What the Tasting Room Manager does!

As the full-time/exempt Tasting Room Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the business operations and staff for the indoor and outdoor tasting room guest experiences to create an environment that fosters brand loyalty and sales to meet winery goals. Working Wednesday-Sunday at our historic luxury winery in Los Gatos, the day to day will include:

•  Hiring, scheduling, training, developing and coaching team members to ensure growth, engagement and retention.
•  Communicating with staff on the latest information regarding goals, specials, promos, wine club updates, winery offerings, upcoming events, new releases, and low inventory sales opportunities.
•  Managing and operating table management system daily (Tock) in collaboration with the Concierge and Bistro 107 Manager to ensure accuracy and efficient service.
•  Supporting the team to meet/exceed revenue and club sign up goals, managing sales incentives, competitions, etc.
•  Maintaining low labor costs by managing staff hours as a percentage of revenue.
•  Ensuring Tasting Room spaces are ready for guests prior to opening and facility is secured at closing.
•  Building positive relationships with Wine Club Members/guests while resolving any issues as they arise.
•  Maintaining merchandise inventory and ensuring quality and aesthetics of merchandise display.
•  Collaborating with HR, Finance, Marketing, and Winemaking, as needed.
•  Performing administrative tasks such as wine inventory, reporting, data analysis, payroll, POS management, supply ordering, menu changes, budget management, etc.
•  Fill in for all Tasting Room service positions when short staffed/as needed.
Requirements
•  4+ years of experience working in a Tasting Room or similar role preferred
•  Minimum of 2 years retail supervisor experience
•  Proven leadership skills with experience training and mentoring staff to achieve goals
•  Intermediate level of wine knowledge
•  Effective verbal and written communication
•  Results oriented with excellent problem solving and decision making skills
•  Superb customer service skills
•  Positive attitude with the wiliness to jump in and help wherever and whenever needed
•  Ability to create a fun work environment with engaged and highly motivated team
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
•  Responsible Beverage Service and Food Service Manager Certifications (within 1 week of hire)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
•  Available to work Wednesdays-Sundays and holidays.
•  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
•  Ability to work indoor/outdoor, in all weather conditions (rain or shine).
•  Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift (7+ hours).
•  Frequently reaching, lifting, carrying and bending.
