A power house of employer in the Virginia market is looking for a qualified CPA or equivalent to join their Tax Planning and Controversy team.
You will report to their Planning Director who is based in the UK and you will take US lead for all Tax Planning Initiatives for the Group across US & Canada.
Whilst working for the Director you will get on the ground guidance from the VP of tax who have years of US Tax planning experience as both will aid driving your career to a Director role over time.
The team has a separate compliance & reporting Tax team and you will work hand in hand in managing any legalisative issues with may impact their year end and month end.
You will lead aspects of US and state income tax audits and engage periodically in global tax audits whilst interacting with tax authorities on behalf of the company through robust audit defence.
Lead US tax planning initiatives including research and development credit process, management cost allocation study and merger and acquisition activities.
Responsible for leading elements of their transfer pricing activities including engagement with our external service providers, providing necessary data to external team, reviewing of master and local country reports and preparation of country-by-country reporting.
You will support the business by being involved in due diligences where required for any acquisitions which do occur year on year.
You will keep abreast of tax laws affecting the company and and update team and wider key stakeholders across the group.
This role is ideal for a person who has gained Professional Service firm experience and if you have been seconded or currently work for a US Multinational that is a plus.
The role requires Tax Advisory experience & someone who will come into the firm with a fresh set of eyes on how the firms manages its tax risk & advisory function.
If commuting from Richmond and or Washington, the firm offers expenses for hotel accommodation but equally they are happy to support re-location for such a good career move.
